In Norway, prostitution is legal, but purchasing sex will be illegal and punishable with six months in prison if Justice Minister Knut Storberget’s proposed law passes. The new law, introduced in July, aims to address the perceived rise in sexual trafficking of women from other countries. Parliament is now considering the law and seems to favor its passage.
