A report from Argentina’s Femicides Observatory Adriana Marisel Zambrano recorded 164 gender-based violence deaths from January to August 2025, including 150 femicides and 12 related deaths of men and children. 143 children lost their mothers, over half minors, and 66% of attacks occurred at home, with most perpetrators being current or former partners.
Buenos Aires led with 60 cases, followed by Santa Fe (17) and Córdoba (10). Among the victims, some had filed prior complaints, several perpetrators were under precautionary measures, and vulnerable groups included migrants, women in sexual exploitation, and indigenous women, with most victims and perpetrators aged 19–50.
