On the tenth anniversary of the anti-violence campaign Ni Una Menos (Not one less) in Argentina, experts are speaking out about the country’s alarming rates of feminicide. On average, between 250 and 270 feminicides occur in Argentina per year. According to the organization Mujeres de la Matria Latinoamericana, that’s roughly one femicide every 33 hours. As demonstrators took to the streets on the anniversary in both protest and remembrance, those affected called for incread gender trainings, heightened protections, and continued vigilance in the face of violence against women.
