Croatia: Neva Tolle Receives Raoul Wallenberg Prize for Her Work Against Domestic Violence

The Advocates for Human Rights congratulates Neva Tolle for receiving the prestigious Raoul Wallenberg Prize and for her longstanding dedication to women's rights in Croatia. The Advocates has had the honor of working with Autonomous Women's House in Zagreb and Neva Tolle to document the state response to domestic violence and submit reports to various UN human rights bodies. The prize was awarded by the Council of Europe to Ms. Tolle in a ceremony in Strasbourg, France. The jury that determined who should win the prize emphasized Ms. Tolle's courage, determination, innovation and creativity, that have yielded improvements in Croatian legislation, policies, public perception and assistance to victims.
