In Santo Domingo, the Ministry of Women, together with President Luis Abinader and housing authorities, awarded Domicina Republic pesos (RD) $1,106,000 in Bono Mujer [Women's Bond] subsidies to five women heads of household as part of the Familia Feliz National Housing Plan. The subsidy, covering 8–12% of each apartment’s value, significantly reduces monthly payments and improves access to dignified housing for vulnerable women. Since its launch, 486 women have benefited, including single mothers, survivors of violence, women with disabilities, and caregivers. Officials emphasized the programme’s role in advancing women’s quality of life, while beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the government’s support in securing safe homes for their families.
