ECPAT International recently published an online version of Protecting Children from Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Violence in Disaster and Emergency Situations. The publication provides local and community-based organizations with strategies for preventing the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children during natural disasters and other emergencies. The guide draws insight from the experiences of international experts and children’s organizations involved in combating child sexual abuse in the aftermath of the 2004 Asian Tsunami.

English, Arabic and Spanish versions of the publication are currently available; a French translation is expected to be released soon.
