On November 6, 2025, the European Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) voted positively on a resolution supporting the European citizen’s petition “My Voice, My Choice.” Support came from members of the European Parliament belonging to many different political groups, including the Left, the Greens, the Socialists and Democrats, and Renew.
The committee vote will be followed by a plenary vote in Strasbourg in December, where all 720 MEPs will finally decide whether or not the resolution passes. If voted positively, the petition’s demands for accessible, safe abortion care everywhere in the EU will be satisfied and implemented through the European Commission.
