Europe: My Voice, My Choice Petition To Be Discussed At The EU Parliament

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, European politicians in the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality will vote on My Voice, My Choice. This proposal aims to reduce unsafe abortions and make abortions safe and accessible for everyone. The committee at the European Parliament will vote on an oral question and draft a motion for a resolution on this European Citizens' Initiative (ECI).
More than 20 million women across the European Union (EU) do not have access to safe abortion care. My Voice, My Choice is an initiative aimed at ensuring the EU passes legislation that would create a financial mechanism that helps Member States provide safe abortion care for all those who do not have access to it. If successful, the proposal to reduce unsafe abortions in the European Union will move forward to the full European Parliament. If it succeeds, the European Commission could make safe abortion a reality across Europe in less than six months.
