Greece is launching a program that will create 10,000 subsidized jobs for unemployed women in an effort to help reintegrate unemployed women back into the labor market and support businesses in need of employees. The program is the largest targeted measure to date aimed at supporting the employment of women, with a €100,000 budget.
A unique aspect of the program is the focus on mothers by providing a higher wage subsidies for women with children up to 15 years old. To participate in the program, women need to be registered with the Public Employment Service and complete the online application to be matched with an employer.
