Led by Eugenia d’Angelo, the Franco-Argentinian NGO MundoSur launched the Latin American Map of Femicides (Mapa Latinoamericano de Feminicidios), revealing over 4,855 femicides in its latest report–at least 1,000 more than official records. Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Honduras had the highest death tolls. The project began during COVID-19 to highlight overlooked victims and cases, including trans femicides, migrant, and Afro-descendant women’s deaths.
