Latvia: Country Ratifies the Istanbul Convention

On Jan. 10, 2024, Latvia ratified the Istanbul Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, which Council of Europe nations could begin ratifying in 2011.  The Convention will become effective in Latvia on May 1, 2024.  Latvia is now the 39th party of the Convention.
