On February 4, 2026, the European Union (EU) and United Nations Women Ukraine have signed an agreement moving forward with the establishment of the Gender Equality Facility (GEF). The GEF is an initiative to provide tools and expertise necessary to aid Ukraine in advancing gender equality across many crucial institutions in public policy, government and war recovery efforts. Ukraine, through implementing the GEF, will be taking a crucial step to EU accession and alignment with the values of the organization as well as the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
