United States: New York State Passes Law Barring Domestic Violence Perpetrators from Owning Guns

The Governor of New York has signed new legislation that will bar persons convicted of domestic violence from owning or carrying any firearms. Previously, New York only restricted domestic violence offenders from owning handguns. The Governor stated that the law will help, “break the inextricable link between gun violence and domestic violence.”
