Global: Women’s Leadership Strengthens Peacebuilding Efforts

Women’s participation in peace processes significantly improves outcomes, yet female involvement remains limited, according to Human Rights Watch. The article highlights global examples from Colombia to the Philippines where women played key roles in securing durable peace and inclusive governance. Despite this, structural barriers, underfunding, and tokenism continue to hinder meaningful participation. Human Rights Watch calls for governments and international actors to support women's leadership and ensure gender-inclusive peacebuilding.
