Working Toward Gender Equality in Bulgaria

Bulgaria has established a new institution that aims to improve the status of equal rights for men and women in the country. A Bulgarian National Council, which will be headed by the social minister, will work toward the goal of reducing the significant problem of gender discrimination. The announcement of the newly established Council came one week after reports that women in Bulgaria continue too face gender discrimination in the work force.
