Editorial: "Women's Rights, Turkish Style"
Tuesday, September 14, 2004 9:45 AM

A New York Times editorial calls on Turkey to stop condoning so-called "honor killings" and strengthen the nation's rape laws and laws governing violence against women. The editorial is critical of proposals such as those that would make adultery criminal, allow reduced sentences for men involved in "honor killings" and make consensual sex between people ages 15 to 18 a punishable offense.  Please visit the New York Times online to view the editorial.
