Disabled Women Ignored by the UN

The United Nation Member States have been negotiating “A Comprehensive and Integral Convention on Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities” since 2002. However, the needs of and discrimination against women with disabilities remain virtually ignored throughout the document. In order to make State Parties and society more aware of the problems facing women with disabilities, and to ensure that the gender perspective is included in the document, the organizations NETZWERK ARTIKEL 3 and Sozialverband Deutschland (SoVD) have begun a campaign.
