In December 2000, the European Union proclaimed the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. It has since become part of the treaty establishing a constitution for Europe. The Charter will take effect if and when the treaty is fully ratified. In an attempt to raise awareness about the important document, Justice, a legal and human rights organization based in London, has created an informational website about the EU Charter. The site (www.eucharter.org/) includes the text of each article in the Charter as well as "detailed commentary, relevant case-law, articles and links."
