A 2008 report issued by the Forum of Women’s NGOs of Kyrgyzstan provides information on Kyrgyzstan’s implementation of CEDAW recommendations. The report focuses on two main aspects of the recommendations: violence against women and women’s political participation. The report raises concerns that the 2003 “Law on Social-Legal Protection from Domestic Violence of the Kyrgyz Republic” is not being properly enforced.
