The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, has required that all of his cabinet ministers sign a pledge against sexist behavior and sexual harassmant among their employees and anyone visiting a government office. Cyprus already has laws against such behavior in workplaces, but the nation ranks low -- 22 out of 27 nations -- studied by the European Institute for Gender Equality. All ministers signed the pledge in a ceremony at the presidential palace. Christodoulides is the father of four daughters, and has said he wants to prioritze issues of gender equality during his tenure.
