According to the 2023 Gender Equality Index published by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), the Czech Republic ranks 25th out of 27 EU countries in ensuring equal opportunities for women. The Gender Equality Index examines six areas of equity: health, power, time, money, work, and knowledge. The average score for countries in the EU is 70.2 out of 100 points, and the Czech Republic received a score of 57.9. The Czech Republic scored lower than average in all six categories, the lowest score was in women’s power with only 30.2 out of 100 points.
