Europe: The Need for a Feminist Sexuality Education

Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), rooted in feminist and intersectional approaches, is key to preventing gender-based violence and empowering young people. A joint report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Germany’s Federal Centre for Health Promotion highlights major gaps in CSE implementation across Europe. While CSE promotes consent awareness, safer sex, and respect for sexual diversity, some European Union countries—like Hungary and Poland–maintain low standards of CSE; which is proven to empower students to examine critically inequality and discrimination.
