A report on sexual violence and torture in Iran’s prison systems was published by the NGO, Justice for Iran, in December 2012. The report contains testimonials of victims and survivors, witnesses, and experts which detail the experience of women prisoners and the sexual violence to which they are systematically subjected. In addition, the report analyzes the parallel processes of authority and the manner in which Iranian security officials raped and tortured those about to face execution or forced prisoners into marriage as a barter for their life.
