Two years after Iran’s “Woman Life Freedom” uprising, Iranian authorities continue to suppress dissent, with systematic impunity shielding those responsible for severe human rights abuses. During and after the protests, security forces used excessive violence, killing and injuring many, while enforcing strict veiling laws, targeting women and girls, and escalating the use of the death penalty. Women and activists endure severe harassment, with authorities using detention, torture, and threats to silence them. Amnesty International and other human rights organizations call for international intervention to address these ongoing abuses and hold perpetrators accountable.
