Activists, government officials and survivors of domestic violence spoke and strategized at the third International Conference on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Girls and Domestic Violence, held in Chisinau on October 25-26, 2023. Moldova has ratified the Istanbul Convention and will soon have an operational National Agency for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence; nevertheless, gender-based violence against women and related violations persist in the nation, as in others.
