Moldova: GREVIO Calls for Further Steps to Combat Violence Against Women

A report released by the Council of Europe mointoring body for the Istanbul Convention, GREVIO, states ways that Moldova has improved efforts to stop violence against women. It also provided suggestions for next steps to take, including training for police officers and those in legal settings who work with victims of domestic violence; providing sufficient funding to organizations that help victims; and adding forced marriage, forced sterilization/abortion, and female genital mutilation to the definition of violence against women.
