Moldova: The Gender Equality Index (GEI) Increased Significantly from 2021 to 2022, Labor Sector Exempt

Reforms in the public sector, including a quota system to increase women in legislative bodies, has led to a record high percentage of female MPs in 2021. Similar advances were made in the health sector. However, metrics of gender equality declined in the labor market, especially for women with children.
