The Council on Foreign Relations just released an interactive guide examining the occurrence, causes, and consequences of Forced Early Marriage (FEM). This project produces country profiles where prevalence of FEM is acute, interactive maps, videos, strategies to disrupt its practice and connect resources. As a violation of human rights, the global community has had success by use of sanctions, ‘naming and shaming’ permissive countries, education and economic expansion, and most effectively by informing and working with local actors.
