New Website Enumerates Rights Found in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights

In December 2000, the European Union proclaimed the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. It has since become part of the treaty establishing a constitution for Europe. The Charter will take effect if and when the treaty is fully ratified.

In an attempt to raise awareness about the important document, Justice, a legal and human rights organization based in London, has created an informational website about the EU Charter. The site ( includes the text of each article in the Charter as well as "detailed commentary, relevant case-law, articles and links."
