New York Magazine listed The Advocates for Human Rights' Stop Violence Against Women as one its 101 charities to give to this holiday season. It writes, "Backed by the Advocates for Human Rights, the project aims to raise public awareness of domestic violence, sex trafficking, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and gender violence as an instrument of war, and also to advocate for victims."

The magazine also featured The Advocates in its guide's Civil and Human Rights organizations, writing that "The Advocates is a wide-ranging organization that raises awareness of and addresses an array of issues, including sex trafficking (both abroad and on U.S. soil), asylum, and post-conflict rebuilding efforts, and also provides teachers with free curricula on the subject of human rights."
