The Taiwanese Cabinet has authorized a new action plan to address violence against women, spanning from 2025 to 2027. The plan follows international guidelines like CEDAW and aims to reduce online gender-based violence, safeguard youth, and nurture gender acceptance and inclusivity through mandatory gender-based violence education in schools, enhanced safety protocols, and training for staff to identify and respond appropriately to abuse. The plan will also focus on providing resources to help children navigate the justice system, establishing more sustainable shelters, and training judicial staff with the goal of increasing their gender awareness.
