New Report: UNICEF Documents High Rate of Violence against South Pacific Women and Children

Women and girls in the South Pacific suffer high rates of physical and sexual violence, including while pregnant, according to a new report by the United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The report, Harmful Connections: Examining the relationship between violence against women and violence against children in the South Pacific, evaluated the situation of women and children from the South Pacific islands of Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu.
